Every candle we make is hand-poured with care in small batches in our studio. We use traditional techniques and modern technology to create candles that are both beautiful and functional. Keeping your pet safe around essential oils
Essential oils toxic to dogs and cats
Dogs are less sensitive to essential oils, while cat are more sensitive to them, the essential oils that are poisonous to dog and cats are:
Cinnamon All citrus oils
Clove Hyssop
Pennyroyal Peppermint
Pine Sweet Birch
Tea Tree Wintergreen
Ylang Ylang
Other Information
As with cats, you should always be careful of essential oils around dog, especially animals with existing heart, liver, or lung conditions.
Some essential oils can also be put into cleaning products to ensure pet-safe cleaning products are on hand for their safety.
Symptoms of essential oil poisoning
Since our pets liver are smaller then ours, they're unable to properly metabolise the chemicals in the essential oil, which can lead to signs of poisoning in pet including:
1.Dribbling
2.Shaking or tremors
3.Unsteadiness on their feet or collapsing
4.Difficulty breathing or breathing with their mouth open
5.Vomiting
6.Seizures
7.Red or sore skin (if contact with skin)
The effects of essential oil poisoning in pets can be disastrous, resulting in respiratory problems, liver failure and even death.
